Food Pantry 

Whistle knows that monitoring your pet's health for their best life includes tracking the food they eat and monitoring their weight (just their owners!) Tracking food also helps to identify food sensitivities, gut health, weight changes, and even levels of scratching


Where do I find the Food Pantry in the Whistle app?
1. Open the app and tap on the Pet tab in the bottom menu

2. Scroll down just a bit to Food and tap the Add Food button


3. Search for food by brand and flavor in the Search box. Select the food variety you want to add. 
If you feed your pet any homemade foods, be sure to start your search with Homemade - we have many homemade "people food" entries already added



4. Select the date you started feeding this food. If you don't remember, it's ok to guess! When you've selected the date, tap Next in the top right corner to continue

5. On the next screen, enter how many times a day this meal is fed, and the serving size. You may see different serving size options based on the food type. The calories per serving will be calculated automatically. If you don't feed the exact serving size listed, you can choose fractions or whole numbers to calculate the correct information. Once this is entered, it's a fixed entry, so if you feed the same food, but different portions at different times for example, you'll have to add the food twice with the different times per day or serving size
When you have the information entered, tap Done in the middle right side, then tap Next in the top right corner

6. Finally, you'll see a screen asking Why This Food? Select as many as needed to help give you the best overview of the feeding history. This can help you determine if a new diet is effective at resolving issues, or maybe is causing new ones. Once you've made your selections, tap Done in the top right corner

If you need to edit or delete a food from the Food Pantry, tap on the food in the Pet tab under Food Pantry, then tap the three dots in the top right corner. Select Edit or Delete. If you're editing a food, be sure to tap Save in the upper right corner once you've made your changes!

What if the food I feed my pet isn't in the Food Pantry?

There are so many amazing foods and treats, and so many varieties, that we may be missing some in the Food Pantry. Not to worry - we can always add any food you need! 
If you start searching for a food and it isn't in the Food Pantry already, you'll see this screen

Tap on Request New Food, then fill out the form with as much information as you know. Be sure to specify any important varieties or flavors, anything that helps us add what you need as quickly as possible. 
We'll get your request, then we'll follow up with an email to confirm that your food is now available, or if we have any questions

What can I add, or request to be dded to the Food Pantry?
Whatever you feed your pet! Dry food, canned food, treats, snacks, and so on. Any brand, and variety. We can add Homemade foods as well, just let us know what it is

You can up to seven food varieties. If you try to add more than seven, you'll see a screen letting you know that you've reached the max number of foods. If you've reached the limit, you'll have to delete an entry in order to add a new one
