Performance Settings

WHISTLE™ enhanced performance settings are always working in the background to optimize your device's capabilities and helping to keep your pet safe and healthy. Whistle devices allow customization for how frequently you want your device to check in with your router, phone, or satellites. To change your device's Location Alert Frequency, tap on the Pet tab (paw print icon) at the bottom of the app, and scroll to the Battery & Device section.

There you'll see "Location Alert Frequency," which is set to Standard by default. Tapping on this menu will display the available options:

Frequent - Checks for WiFi connection every minute and, if no WiFi is detected, obtains a GPS update every 1 minute. Escape alerts typically received within 1-3 minutes. Has the most impact on battery life

Standard - Default setting, checks for WiFi every three minutes and updates GPS location every 6 minutes if no WiFi is found. You'll receive a breach alert usually within 3-6 minutes, and battery life will be typical for your pet's routine

Saver - Periodic scan and sync interval. It usually takes 6-12 minutes to receive a notification that the pet has left the Safe Place, but battery life is extended
