What Is Pet AI Research?

The Pet AI Research app is a mobile tool designed within the Mars Petcare division, in partnership with the Waltham Petcare Science Institute and built on the accomplishments of our Pet Insight Project, to help develop digital tools that will be used by vets, researchers, and pet parents to provide innovative new ways to care for pets. This tool also helps us design and develop new features for the Whistle app and other Mars Petcare products, in large part by improving functionality, and image and data categorization. The app uses photo submissions to improve the technology and support research studies.
 
Pet AI Research is not a diagnostic tool. Contact your vet right away if you have any questions or concerns about your pet!

We're building this technology with them to innovate new ways for pet parents to care for their pets, to work with vets, clinics, and animal hospitals, and to support research scientists 
 
So, what is Pet AI Research? 
Using advanced AI photo scanning technology, the Pet AI Research app is a digital research tool that provides unique applications for veterinarians and research professionals like early detection, aftercare, and discovery. This app helps us improve basic things like photo upload quality and image categorization. It contributes to the development of more advanced and innovative tools for pet parents and vets alike. 
Upcoming studies will include things like ear health, eye health, and mobility
It's very much the way we developed the Poop Scan feature already in your Whistle app! 

The more photos we collect via the studies in Pet AI Research, the better the technology gets, and that allows us to add new studies and features sooner. Your photos help us build new ways to care for pets everywhere!
