Whistle 2.0 App for Android - Location Tab
Last Update:Nov 13 2024 10:24pm • Est. Read Time:Est. Read Time: 2 MINThe Location Tab will be the default tab for pet parents who have a Whistle GPS device (Whistle Switch or Whistle GO Explore) because we know that keeping track of your pet is the most important feature!
The screen focuses on the map, with your default pet in the center of the view. If you have more than one pet on your account, you can switch between them in the upper left corner of the screen
You can use the app to request a one-time location update or use the Find My Pet feature to track your pet for a longer duration. If within Bluetooth range, a small version of the Proximity Meter is also available
The Location tab:
Find My Pet
Find My Pet provides automatic location updates every 15 seconds for a total session length of 30 minutes (if not manually stopped by you first)
The breadcrumb trail shows your pet's location history. The blue dot is your phone location
Find My Pet is not available if the device is out of battery, or while the device is charging

Update Location
If the pet is not connected to WiFi, the Update Location button appears above the pet pin
Tapping “Update Location” will provide a one time update of the location information
Proximity Meter
The Proximity Meter on the Location tab will be available during a Find My Pet session if the device is within Bluetooth range
It will automatically slide up from the bottom if Bluetooth is detected, and can be manually minimized or brought up again
Multiple active sessions
You can now start multiple Find My Pet sessions at once using the pet picker at the top left of the screen or by tapping the pet icon on the map of the pet you want to focus on
You’ll see just one session at a time, but you can toggle between the sessions
Current and Daily views
The tab defaults to the current view. Tap the “Daily” tab above the status bar at the bottom of the screen to switch to a day view
We’ll show the breadcrumb trail for all locations received from the device for that day, whether it was during an active session or not
You can review back up to 30 days in the past. Any data older than 30 days will no longer be accessible
