Whistle 2.0 App for Android - Profile Tab

The Profile Tab in Whistle 2.0 combines the information that was formerly available on the Pet and Human tabs in the legacy Whistle app into a new hierarchy. This is the tab for account management, device management, and legal and support documentation


Account

  • Account management for both the human profile and the pet profile and subscription

  • Pet’s information includes

    • Name, breed, age, weight, sex, spay/neuter status, time zone, and photo

  • Subscription will only show under the main account holder, and includes

    • Plan type, renewal date, renewal amount, update payment method, cancel subscription

    • NOTE! Pay close attention to the Subscription screen - it's displays when your subscription will auto-renew, and has an option to Cancel your subscription right in the app. The only other way to cancel a subscription is by contacting Customer Support. If you do not want to continue your subscription, submit the cancellation no later than one day before the renewal date! Otherwise your subscription remains active until the next renewal period. If you miss the renewal date, contact Customer Support to discuss the charge, we'll do our best to help

  • Human profile includes

    • Name, email address, change password, change theme, “About” links (privacy policy, terms of use, acknowledgements), log out, delete account

    • Only one email address is now allowed per account



Whistle device

  • Safe Places

    • Displays for GPS capable devices only (Whistle Switch and Whistle GO Explore)

    • Shows list of all Safe Places that all pets owned or added to the user are connected to

    • List view shows pet profile photo for pets that are connected to that Place

    • Only the person who created the Place will have the option to edit any Place details

      • The name of person who owns the Place is shown if it’s someone other than current user

  • Battery & device information

    • Current battery information, historical battery usage, serial number, firmware version

  • Location alert frequency

    • On GPS capable devices only

    • Settings: Frequent, Standard, Saver

  • Bluetooth proximity meter

    • Available on all devices except AM2 (Fit)

    • Fullscreen version of the proximity meter on the Location tab

  • Replace device

    • Post-onboarding flow to replace an existing device/pet profile - contact Customer Support if you need help with this process

Family

  • Family sharing works the same as it does in the legacy app

  • You can add or remove additional family members, but you cannot remove yourself (the account owner)

  • The family section also has the “Add a new pet” flow to add additional device(s) to the account

  • The family section is also where to find the banner link to Refer A Friend

Notifications & permissions

  • Notifications supported include push notifications and email notifications

  • Breach alerts and safe trip alerts (the “Location” section) will only show for a GPS device

  • Text notifications will be hidden unless the you already has a US phone number registered to their account

  • Phone permissions includes Bluetooth, Location, and device pairing (Whistle <> phone)

    • A red alert icon will show to the left of this item if one of the permissions is not configured correctly

    • Tapping on “Phone permissions” shows all of the necessary permissions for Whistle, and anything incorrectly configured will be shown in red

Support

  • Help - opens support.whistle.com in a new browser window

  • Feedback - opens the Help Make Us Better survey - these get escalated to Customer Support where applicable, or forwarded to the appropriate Product team to review if you select "Yes" to "Are you open to being contacted about this?" If you select "No", we will not follow up with you on your submission. But, we do read everything!

  • Shop Whistle - opens shop.whistle.com in a new browser window

  • Ask-A-Vet is coming soon!



GPS Profile Tab: Non-GPS devices will have fewer Device options
